Education Excellence and Labour Market

 

  • Youth Element in Jordan

(70%) of the population being under the age of 30. Jordan in particular has only (3%) of the MENA region’s population, however it hosts around (10%) of all universities in the Arab world.

 Jordanian education is renowned regionally as highly advanced and graduates highly skilled and innovative professionals in the healthcare, engineering and IT fields. In addition; Jordan’s labor market ranks high in terms of quality of higher education and on-the-job-training.

  • Research and development

Jordan offers a regionally competitive environment for innovation, research, and development.

Jordan’s training investments in high-tech, manufacturing, and service sectors add value to the economy, while labor cost remains the most competitive in the region.

 

  • ICT development

 

Jordan is emerging as a regional leader in ICT development, with 16,000 direct ICT jobs already created by the sector, and with more than 84,000 in total jobs whether direct, indirect, and induced. Additionally, the pool of the ICT-related labor force is growing annually, with a steady inflow of 5,000 to 6,000 graduates from universities. Cooperation between private sector and academia courses alongside government subsidy programs for fresh graduates, are set in place.
